Now on-demand:

Forecasting the end of Excel has been a popular thing to do for many years, and yet the most popular business analytical tool on the market continues to be Excel spreadsheets. While the challenges Excel can pose force this conversation, the reality is that mission-critical applications and ad hoc analysis continues to run on Excel workbooks. How do we modernize our analytics stack and keep the most pervasive tool in the hands of your analysts? Let us show you how with AtScale.

We’ll cover:

  • Recent Innovations
    • Excel CUBE functions – AtScale has traditionally supported Excel by way of a Pivot table. Pivot tables are fantastic query mechanisms, but our customers have asked us for more granular cell-level control. To meet this need we’re proud to announce support for several of Excel’s CUBE functions.
    • 2-Way Level Alias – Love the hierarchy but don’t want to be forced to navigate it? Secondary attributes can be aliased to a level while allowing for flat reporting.
  • Performance tips – Lots to talk about here, but we’ll cover some engine settings to consider and techniques to avoid large cross product queries
  • Recap of innovations in previous releases – We are always pushing more BI interoperability and you might have missed a couple of improvements. We’ll cover the significant enhancements over the last few releases.

The biggest Excel objection has been spreadsheets flying around with loads of extracted (and often sensitive) data. AtScale allows an Excel user to access large scale data with a governed semantic layer while not extracting raw data. We hope you join us!
