Employee Spotlight: Martin Carrillo
Team AtScale is always evolving. Since being founded in 2013 in San Mateo, we’ve traveled across the country and in late 2018, broke ground on a second home in Boston. Throughout these six years, we’ve been recognized in CRN’s Emerginging Vendors: Big Data list, been named by BBJ as one of the “Best Places to Work in 2019,” and have led customer growth of 125% year over year. What drives our success? Our team. Today we’re excited to introduce you to Brandon Revelli, Account Executive, from our Boston office.
What’s your role here at AtScale?
A: I am an Account Executive, focused primarily in the Midwest United States.
How long have you been working with the company for?
A: I joined the company in January of 2019, so I am going on 10 months.
Walk us through a day in the life. What’s the first thing that you do when you walk into the office?
A: I keep a running list of tasks ranked by priority. I start my day by checking in on each item and plotting out how each will get done that day.
The last thing that you do before you leave?
A: Circle back on my list of pending tasks and also check the calendar to be sure I’m prepared for the next day’s meetings.
What makes our solution unique?
A: Customers choose AtScale because they see the value in liberating their data, while optimizing their existing investments. Only AtScale allows an organization to simultaneously optimize their existing analytics environment, visualization tools and back-end platforms, while preparing for the investments that they will roll out in the future.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of your job?
A: I enjoy solving the puzzle that is an organization’s initiative or project. Each organization we speak with has a slightly different tech stack, organizational structure, initiatives, etc. I help them figure out where AtScale can fill gaps and help them leverage existing resources to get their projects done. I believe it is my job to connect the right resources, at the right time and give them the best odds for success. When everything comes together just right, it has substantial real-world benefits, which I find very rewarding.
Describe the Boston office in three words.
A: Tight-knit, driven and competitive.
Best lunch spot in town?
A: Amateras Ramen on South Street.
Favorite song on the office playlist?
A: We went through a pretty big Queen phase when the Boston team was just getting started. For that reason I’d have to go with “Don’t Stop Me Now”.
What do you love most about working at AtScale? Why did you choose to work here?
A: I chose to come to AtScale for two reasons; first, the people and leadership team. The chance to learn from some of the best and brightest was invaluable to me. Second, the technology. There’s a massive opportunity in the data virtualization market and I saw AtScale as particularly well-positioned to capitalize on that opportunity.
It’s the weekend. What are you most likely doing?
A: I’m somewhere in Boston with a few friends and a plan loosely centered around a good meal.
